Drought Phase 1 Implementation

RESOLUTION NO. R8-22

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OLNEY, TEXAS, DECLARING THE WATER SUPPLY OF THE CITY OF OLNEY HAS DROPPED TO AN ELEVATION OF 1135 FEET AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PHASE I OF THE WATER CONSERVATION PLAN OF THE CITY OF OLNEY IS NECESSARY.

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Olney, that:

1. Conditions exist in the water supply in the City of Olney requiring action by the City under its Water conservation Plan.
2. The City Council hereby declares that Phase I of the Water Conservation Plan shall be immediately implemented as follows:
   • Residential, commercial and public entities are urged to cooperate in voluntarily reducing their consumption of water during heavy usage periods;
   • It is recommended that watering of lawns should be completed between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M.
3. The City Secretary is hereby instructed to publish this resolution in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at the next available time and that all penalties for violation of the Water Conservation Plan shall be effective Friday, May 6, 2022 upon publication of this resolution.
